The American Tax System Fair or No?

I'm trying to understand where I can form my opinion by sources that will help.

    Your fair, my fair and the guy down the street's fair may not be the same thing and who is to say which of us is right.

    is any tax system fair? no but if citizens are unable to provide services for the general good without them they are a necessary evil

    That is subjective. @50% of our population pays no taxes and get free money back in the form of EIC welfare payments. We have the lowest taxes compared to most countries.

    The poor pay way too much and the extremely wealthy (>500k/yr) don't pay enough.
