Why was the shooting of Michael Brown considered a hate crime, but the beating to death of a white Bosnian male by black people is not?

Michal Brown was not a hate crime, and as far as the Bosnian kid their is no political gain for the left to push it.

The man was not attacked just because he was white; that would be a hate crime. The criminals attacked him because he was there. And FYI, they were all arrested and put in jail.
