What dictates what we believe to be wrong and right?
Stop and think for a minute: Why is it wrong to kill or steal? Why is it right to donate to charity? What is it that means humans hold these specific beliefs about what is morally right or wrong?
Ultimately, our conscience it just a part of our brain that functions no differently to the rest of it - it is us that decides what we believe to be right and wrong.
Any thoughts on how humans decide what is morally good and bad?
If you were raised without ever being TAUGHT what is right and wrong, would you come to the same conclusions? Would someone who never learned what to believe think that murder wasn't immoral?

Can you live alone on some planet for life? No. No one can because we are social beings. Being social we need to learn to stay in peace and harmony otherwise anyone would kill anyone and there won't be any peace or sound sleeo. So we need to go the way opposite of stealing and violence, that's the only option if we humans want a healthy place to coexist.

killing and stealing etc etc makes you feel bad either from empathy and understanding ...... or by the pressure , that equates to experience you put yourself in , from creating a chain of events that is bad for you
this is why such morale codes ,exists within all of us
as for giving to charity ....were i can see a righteous cause exists .... modern day charity is tarnished
years ago , volunteers ( good hearted and spirited people ) got involved in charity to make a difference
modern charity is not even remotely like this ( apart from a few exceptions ) ...they are run as a business , and pay for workers is extreme ..... it has been widely acknowledged that some modern charities are consuming as much as 60-80% of every pound or dollar donated .... this figure is called admin fee's
the cost of running , wages even company cars and lavish events ..... which is not a charity in the sense i expect or am use too ...it is a capitalist venture ..charity is a industry now
this deception for me makes me highly dubious of charity ...... it is no longer pure and of good intention and is something i don't want to be associated with

Our brains function on the pleasure/pain principle. If it is pleasurable it wants more. If it is painful it doesn't want more. Our minds, now here is where all that gets interesting. We have as many ways to express our pains and pleasures that it must be personal each individual expression of what the brain is going through. Some of it determined by extrinsic things and some of it by intrinsic. This is where the brain needs us. We must determine what is best for it by what we know of it and everything else it is doing. That is what survival is all about.

The Word of God is how you know. Human nature is explained, read the parable of the sower in the kjversion then study the whole Word of God. Man will justify anything in his own eyes like we see today, that's why everyone comes up with different values and opinions. This nation as well is founded on Christian principles and everyone is dying to come here or undermine it, hmm...

Mainly culture and partly on how you are brought up. Empathising with others plays a part. Necessity overrules conscience!

Prosocial behavior (as opposed to antisocial) is morally correct because humans are an instinctively social species.
