Cost of living in Metro Manila?
Hi I m looking for estimates of cost of living in Metro Manila (Makati area - I m going to assume Greenwoods in Rizal/Pasig is cheaper but I prefer to stay in Makati then my relatives subdivision).
This is not to include rent or mortgage payments - the house/apartment will be paid outright.
So around how much to pay for 2 adults to eat nicely (plenty groceries/some takeaway/some restaurants) each month and also electricity (aircon at night), phone/internet, water, insurance, health insurance, taxi maybe 4 times a week, some shopping in markets like quiapo etc but also some MOA shopping, etc each month?
Is there an average yearly salary that say upper middle class usually earn to live a fairly comfortable lifestyle?
Thank you in advance to all who answer.

Cost of living in Metro Manila is high and expensive compared to that of living in the provinces. Because all of the malls are situated in Metro Manila, anywhere you go in Metro Manila you will find 3 biggest supermalls in the Philippines. In Makati alone, there is SM city, Ayala companies like Glorietta conglomerate, & Rustan. All the branded products, are here. For two(2) person with the life style that you have eating outside/plenty of grocery items/restaurant hopping, your monthly income should range from 40,000 to 48,000 to 60,000/month pesos in order to live a life style like you have. Your life style is between middle class to upper middle class suburbian living. An average income dwellers in Metro Manila has only 25,000/month income. While below average, they have 15,000/month income. hardly make both ends meet.

My budget is a little less than a grand so that's around Php 30-40k per month excluding shopping & housing. I am a 24 year old living with my 2 dogs. So my budget includes my regular night out which is around 3-4 times a month, Grocery, eat outs+ takeaways, utilities + sat tv and internet, gym.

thank you that at least helps me get a rough idea of current cost of living for important expenses - i'm just trying to roughly estimate what kind of income a comfortable lifestyle would need. I'm looking to invest in buying a jollibee and live the second half of my life there :)

Manila costs more then many small US cities.
The life you describe would require minimum $2500 US per month
