Write how you would explain to a classmate how to solve the equation 2/3x -12

1) Ok, well make it equal zero first, as you are finding x. So 2/3x -12=0
2) Carry the addition/subtraction no. over first, so (-12), because it is going to the other side of the equation in becomes the opposite sign, so you get 2/3x =12
3) Now, you do the opposite again to get the x on its own once more, you take the 2 of 2/3x to the other side you have to do the opposite, so multiply 12 and 2 together, getting 3x =12 x 2, equating to 3x = 24, now to get the x on its own, again, diving 24 by 3 just as you would usually, with the answer of x = 8 (x = 24/3).

LOL !! (2/3) * 8 = 16/3 ... - 8 does NOT equal zero. Look in your book for examples to follow.
