Does the republican proposed "Fair Tax" include purchaces of stocks and bonds?
If not how would this be a fair tax?
LiberalsRNutz What do I need a source for? Most generally the person asking a question does not need a source since they are seeking answers. Seems you are the one with lack of info trying to sound intelligent. For your info you failed.

Why is it important to you that your grandma's retirement account be taxed like you propose?
As YOU find obvious, the "fair tax" applies to NEW RETAIL purchases and is thus paid MOST by "the rich" since LITERALLY ALL such purchases are made on an ELECTIVE basis, there being NON-retail alternatives ALWAYS available. Indeed, this would apply TAX PRESSURE - as YOU personally insist be the PURPOSE of the tax-code - for low-earners to be THRIFTIER and "buy second-hand" and AVOID taxes altogether.

It's not specifically a Republican proposal, but no--investments wouldn't be taxed under the Fair Tax proposal. It's a tax on the consumption of wealth, not on the creation of wealth.

Actually, I thought it was a flat tax that would be on income only. Capital gains would be taxed at a different rate since this isn't income, it is investing in the economy to help businesses have money on hand to conduct business.

Just so you can understand your party..............http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FairTax
Seems that a good republican would be more informed of such key ideas proposed by their party. As an seeker of truths I am trying to understand what this 23% sales tax would include. Food? Stocks? Bonds? I can find nothing specific even in the proposed bills.

As I said before, why is it that liberals like to make claims that they are unable to cite sources for? Is it because when they do they usually show that the main problem is that they can't be bothered to read beyond the headline?
A source provides context for the claim that you are making. Of course liberals here like to make all kinds of claims that they are unable to use facts for support.
