One Direction fans, do you think that One Direction is starting to fade a bit? Is this the beginning of the end?

Look, I'm a huge One Direction fan and nothing makes me happier than seeing the boys have hit songs, a lot of album sales, and a lot of YouTube views. I've noticed that they haven't really had a smash hit since Story Of My Life. That song was massive, had a lot of YouTube views, and did well on the charts. Now, Steal My Girl and Night Changes haven't come close to the success of Best Song Ever, Live While We're Young, and Story Of My Life. Less YouTube views and lower chart positions point to that. Aside from this, Four hasn't sold as well as Midnight Memories. What's wrong? Has the quality of the songs decreased? I don't think so. Steal My Girl and Night Changes are pretty good songs. Has the fandom become smaller and lazier? I don't think so either. We just BEYONCE in the AMAs and we've seen how big our fandom really is judging by the sales from the WWA tour and OTRA tour. So can any Directioner help me understand why this is happening? Is this a mere "bad day in the office" or is it something more serious like the end of the road for 1D? Look, I want the boys to go on and make great music for decades to come. I want them to still be selling out arenas and stadiums while having hit albums and singles years from now. Is it time for a wake up call? What should the fandom and the boys do so we can go back to

the glory days of 1D when we took over the world? Thoughts?

I wouldn't necessarily say you're right. One Direction, in my opinion, is just as big as they used to be. I went to see them nearly a month ago when they were on the Today Show and the crowd was SO MASSIVE I could barely walk, I ended up pushing a lot people, no regrets though. I wanted a good seat !! But yeah, there were 15,000 people there and they were absolutely crazy. We also do get the boys winning most of the awards they're nominated for so there's that. Yes, you're right about the YouTube views but I think there was perhaps a bigger emphasis made on videos like "Best Song Ever" and "Story of My Life"; that they'd be just incredible and worth the watch, which don't get me wrong, all of their videos are, but I feel as if last year, when those videos reached their peaks, it was because of the strong emphasis but on them. Remember, Steal My Girl and especially Night Changes are fairly new videos. It took videos like "Best Song Ever", "Story of My Life", and "Little Things" at least over a year (two years for Little Things) to reach such a good number of views, I'm sure the views of their newer videos will constantly go up the same way. As for One Direction ending, I believe that won't be happening anytime soon. The boys are still enjoying every bit of success they're given and having a great time ! They're often asked in interviews whether or not anything will happen to the band anytime soon and they always say no, and that they want to keep seeing what comes their way. They also signed a new contract to stay together until at least 2018, One Direction is such a big deal, I think they'll be around for a longer time than we think, which is wonderful !! :)

  • All the people who listened to their first three albums have now grown out of the fan girl phase. Maybe one more album then they'll be off on their solo careers
