Title for my book: help me narrow down my choices!?
So I just finished writing a novella based on "The Little Mermaid" by Hans Christian Andersen and I'm thinking of various titles, but can't decide. I'm hoping that someone might be able to perhaps help me narrow down my list. Here are the titles I've thought of so far.
1. "Above the Blue and Windy Sea"
2. "Halfway to the Stars"
3. "The Little Mermaid" (I'm kinda iffy about using this title; on the one hand, this is the title of the original fairy tale and it makes the most sense to call it this, but on the other hand, I don't want to have my book confused with the Disney movie.)
4. "Return to the Sea"
5. "Underwater"
6. "Down to the Sea"
7. "Daughter of the Water"
8. "Daughter of the Deep Blue Sea"
9. "Deep Sea Daughter"
10. "Heart of the Sea"
11. "The Seven Seas’ Wish"
12. "Trial of Tears"
Thank you so much!
Here's a basic rundown of the book.
It's set in present-day San Francisco, and the storyline takes the archetypes from the original fairytale and expands on them.
The story is told from the POV of the "prince" character, who has been going out with a girl from his high school. When he was younger, his life was saved by a mermaid and he still can't forget about the mermaid he met. A new girl, Freya, transfers to his school, and he later finds out that she's the mermaid he met back then.
But Freya has to go back to the ocean because the other mermaids suffer as long as she's in her human form. So her grandmother erases the memories of Freya from everyone else at school but Skylar, and Freya goes back to being a mermaid.

I like 'Daughter of the Deep Blue Sea' the most.
It would help to know a little bit about your book. Is about anyone in The Little mermaid? Is it just similar to The Little Mermaid? Is it about Mermaids and Stuff but totally different to The little mermaid? Things like that

Number three might be trademarked. You'll have to look into the legalities of using it.
Number one has potential. So does number five.
Number eleven could be worded better : The Wish of the Seven Seas, Daughter of the Seven Seas
Number twelve is the best to me, considering her end.
