Recieved a subpoena regarding a patient where I work - no clue what to do.?

So I work at a hospital - I am support staff, not nursing. I register patients. Today, I got a court summons/subpoena to appear regarding a case involving a patient -- sadly I ve got two issues with this.

Not only did this patient come about 4 months ago so I don t remember them at all

but also, this patient came by ambulance in the middle of the night - meaning I never saw the patient at all.

I have no clue what is expected of me and if I go and can only say "I have no information that can help you because I don t remember this patient" is that going to go over well?

You could be getting called in to talk about standard procedures used when checking patients in and whatnot. Maybe this case has something to do with something going wrong on the paperwork side of things. Just call whatever law firm sent it and ask about it.

What should you do? Just tell the truth.

You may have some information to share that you're not even aware of.

if it's the truth, they do anything to you - not everyone has total recall memory
