a good set of radials. There is sometimes a bit of a trade off between grip and (tyre) life though. Bridgestones on my Fazer which are okay on both counts

Most of those real grippy trac type tires have one drawback. You have to heat them up with either tire warmers or by taking warm jup laps first. These tires can be a problem in city stop and go traffic. A multi compound tire would suit you best, Center of tire compound a little harder for street and sidewalls sticky rubber for the track.Also proper suspension setup can go a long way to max grip.

If you want really grippy tyres get a set of pirellis. Expensive and don't expect many miles. The softer or more grippy tyres are the quicker they wear out. Top range pirellis will have you high siding on an oil patch.
