What color hair did Juliet have in Romeo and Juliet?

I'm playing Juliet for a play in drama class, and we want to make it as realistic/historically correct as possible... I'm naturally dark blonde but I can wear a wig

The Juliet in the 1968 Romeo & Juliet movie version HAD BLACK HAIR. Olivia Hussey was from Argentina, and they didn't dye their hair as much back then. That was her ORIGINAL COLOR HAIR.

But if you're going to dye your hair black, I don't recommend that!

Permanent black hair dye is linked to causing leukemia and lymphomas.

Italians have black hair, brown hair, blonde hair.

I've been to Italy, I know!

Olivia's performance in one of the most celebrated roles ever written in the English language won her the Golden Globe and two successive Best Actor Donatello Awards (Italy's Oscar equivalent), an incredible achievement for an actress in only her third film.

Did Shakespeare mention Juliet's hair color in the play he wrote? I don't think so. The play was set in Italy so it would be fair to assume that Juliet had a deep honey blonde hair. But, in Shakespeare's time, the plays were performed in England and all the parts were acted by men. So if you want to be historically correct, you probably need a black haired boy to play the part.

I find blonde curly hair with pale skin to be interesting, and dark hair with tanned pores and skin to also be attractive
