Parents won't let me travel???? Please someone help?
Sorry if this will be long to read, My parents won't let me travel alone on a plane to see my girlfriend, it's my first time traveling alone but I have no problem with that, I'm 18 years old and worked hard for my money at work and I managed to get a week vacation at work to see my girlfriend which is January 2nd till January 10, the thing is they think something bad will happen to me..my girlfriend is 17 years old I get the whole sexual thing and I don't plan on having sex with her, the reason I'm going to see her is to finally meet her parents because her parents wants to meet me and have me over for dinner, now my parents are trying to stop me and I tell them they can't because I'm old enough to make my own decisions and I'm smart and will always be safe, my mom won't leave me alone on this she even told her brother(my uncle) to explain me the "consequences" twice on a different day and that I will ruin my future etc and they can't bail me out, like seriously they do not trust me, I need to learn to be independent, so now they want me to wait another year until she is 18 but why? Because they don't trust me, I'm mainly going there to meet my girlfriends parents and to be with my girlfriend on her birthday which is January 5th( I said 17 because her birthday is soon but she is 16 right now), I swear I don't plan on having sex with her, I'm 18 Turning 19 on March, I need to learn to be independent now not later, I bought my plane ticket already too.

Well the age of consent is 16. So even if you did have sex it wouldn't be illegal. It wouldn't be responsible because that is too young to risk getting pregnant but not illegal. There is a years difference, maybe two between you. That isn't a huge age gap. Neither of you are underage. Why are they actually worried. Is it all the stuff in the news lately about planes crashing and going missing?
Now realistically they can't stop you. You are 18, a legal adult and can do what you want. Why do they think you will ruin your future and what is this about bailing you out? Bailing you out of what? Where does your girlfriend live anyway, is it far?

Sure, you can do what you like. You can fly off to see your girlfriend.
And your parents can toss your stuff on the lawn and change the locks while you're gone, and they don't have to give you a new key.
Think about it.

As long as you re paying for the trip it s your decision. If you want your families approval then explain to them why you are going, that you won t be having sex with her, the dinner arrangement, her birthday, and that you won t ever be in the same bed as her.

you are an adult, they legally cant tell you , you cant go , so book the flight and go! btw your parents, are super paranoid, damn little kids go on the airplane by THEMSELVES lol, consequences?? for what?? they are being ridiculous, don't listen to them, and I would try to move out asap,
