Lone wolf barrels in glocks?

Lone Wolf barrels are one of the most popular Glock accessories that are commonly used. They certainly aren't junk.

I wouldn't recommend them if you were doing 100 yard competition shooting, but I doubt that you will be shooting at 1/10th that distance and will ever notice any difference (even if there is one) between the factory barrel and the Lone Wolf, or between a match barrel at 2x the price and a Lone Wolf.

"Are they reliable enough to put in a carry weapon?"

Yes, though as with any new gun or component, you need to test first to make sure you don't get the fluke.

I use a Lone Wolf .357 Sig barrel in my 22C. It gives me a couple of ammo options (The case diameter is the same in both .40 S&W and .357 Sig, so ALL YOU NEED is the barrel). The standard rifling also allows me to make target loads using cheaper 9mm cast lead bullets in it instead of pricier jacketed .40 bullets.

The really annoying part of carrying a compensated pistol for duty use becomes quite apparent in low light condition when you get two vertical flashes of light next to your front sight when you fire your first shot in low light. You instantly lose your night vision and are unable to even see any additional threats for a while.

OK....who have you been listening to ? Are you inexperienced ? (yes...i bet ) Have you ever had an issue with hot gases ruining your day ? The reason I ask is...I had a VZ 58 ( google < youtube/mvi 1157 > ) and you can see me shoot it...at about 0* F....It has a 7.5" barrel and fires a 7.62x39 high velocity round. It is a gas operated, semi auto and I have had ZERO "hot gas " issues. You're over-thinking this....

Lone Wolf, KKM and Barstow are all well known for their high quality. A lot of competition shooters use them, because they have conventional rifling and not polygonal rifling, conventional rifling allows the safe use of lead bullets, polygonal rifling is jacketed bullet use only.

your money... but unless you want to shoot a ton of lead bullets ....
