Poll if you knew you needed glasses but put it off how long? What age did you know and what age did you get glasses. What made you get them?
In my case I started wondering at about age 12 but was pretty sure at 14 when I almost failed the school vision test. I finally got glasses at age 26 when I scared myself driving at night one too many times. I was near sighted with astigmatism. I've often wondered had been corrected early with glasses if I would have grew out of it and not went myopic. I'm pretty sure my distance vision was ok until around age 11. Keep in mind I this was in the 70's when glasses were not as accepted as they are now.

I was about 13 when we figured it out; my maths grades started inexplicably falling, and eventually we figured out that I could no longer differentiate between plus signs and division signs. My parents took me straight to the optometrist and I got glasses straight away.
I had no qualms about getting the glasses. I was much more concerned about my grades than any stupid idea of "not looking cool".

I think I was 9 when my parents figured out I needed glasses. I was in the car with my mom, and we were passing a giant clock tower-- she asked me what time it was, and I had no idea, because I couldn't see the numbers on the clock.
I'd also been really struggling to learn how to read analog clocks, which helped tip my parents off. I got glasses right away, because I didn't care about how I looked, I just wanted to be able to see.
I didn't realize how bad my eyesight was, once I got my glasses I was amazed by how much I could see. I drove my parents crazy reading every single road sign, because I was so happy I could actually see them.

Well I barely put it off any. I found out I needed glasses when I was 10 and that very day I went out looking for glasses with my mom. What made me get them was when I went to the eye doctor, because my pediatrician was concerned about my vision. I failed the vision test.
