  • In the U. S. most states have a 20/40 vision to get your driver's license. I have a question regarding night driving. See details.?

Do any states have a night driving requirement? If no state does should they. Possibly 20/30 or glasses for night driving?

  • If wearing glasses don't make your vision worse and your eyes become stable in mid 20's please explain this?

I was age 26 when I first started wearing glasses and my eyes were not that bad. I didn't think I would pass a another drivers license test without them and I didn't Note I knew that for more then 10 years before that I needed glasses. I got progressively worse (-2) until I had Lasik at age 41 with one eye being left slightly nearsighted for up close. After about 8 years I had to start wearing glasses for night driving and wore them more than I was told to. After 13 years I was told I could wear them all the time again which I was close too anyway. In the time after that my prescription went from around -1 or less in both eyes to -2 in the left and -1.5 in my right eye. Note only one change in the reading part from +2.50 to 2.75. In 2016 there was no change.

  • Contact wearers with really bad eyesight. Please see details.?

I'm only asking this question because I'm curious. How do people that wear contacts with really bad vision see to put them in? I wear glasses and have never tried contacts but if I did I feel like I could see to put them in. Thanks for any input.

  • Zenni Optical glasses question. I have bought glasses from Zenni for a few years now and have been happy with them. See details.?

I ordered a pair of the ultra light rectangle glasses. I'm having trouble with the left lens. The lens popped and a local shop popped it back in for me. There is a gap and the top of the lens. It clearly says on the web site that the frame can only handle nearsighted prescriptions up to -8. My left eye is -2 with progressive of +2.75. My right eye is -1.25 with the same progressive. Anybody had this problem before? The glasses are comfortable and I would like to be able to wear them. Any help appreciated.

  • Lasik question. Please see details.?

I had Lasik in 2000. I went back to glasses part time in 2010 and full time in 2013. I have an Optometrist who I have been going to since the day after the surgery. I'm not planning on doing this but if I would go to another Optometrist and didn't tell him I've had Lasik would he be able to tell? I've always been curious about this. Optometrists?

  • Plastic eyeglass versus metal eyeglass frame.?

For almost the whole time I've been wearing glasses I've had metal frames with nose pads. I now find the pads are bothering my nose. I have a question for anybody who has worn both metal and plastic frames. What are the advantages and disadvantages of both? Will plastic frames stay up on your face like they are supposed to? Any help from professionals in the field would be welcome. I do wear progressive as I'm in my 50's.

  • Question about beyond UV eyeglasses.?

I posted a question a while back about not wearing my glasses while on a computer at work. Lately I've started wearing them more at work as I feel it is helping with eye strain. I have seen new beyond UV glasses which are said to be good for working on a computer and a mobile device. My prescription is somewhat minor (-1 R and -1.75L with some cylinder in the left and add +2.50) so will getting a pair of these somewhat pricey glasses help. If it matters I had Lasik in 2000 which has regressed to this point. I'm not interested in a touchup at this time. I would really like to hear from experts in the filed.

  • How does Dale Earnhardt Jr. make so much money in NASCAR IN 2015. 10 points for best complete answer.?

Parade Magazine lists Dale Earnhardt income at just over 22 million. His race winnings were just over 6 million. Most drivers get half of that plus a salary. Where did the rest of it come from?

  • NASCAR question. With Tony Stewart out for an undetermined period of time who do you think will fill in?

I've seen Elliott Sadler, Ty Dillion Alex Bowman and Justin Allgaeier mentioned. My opinion is Bowman doesn't have enough time in front running equipment. My choice would probably be Sadler at the companion races. What do you think?

  • Question about Retinal Imaging. I now have vision insurance.?

My vision insurance paid 60 US for the eye exam which was great. I paid the extra 30 dollars for the RI so I would not be miserable for several hours. Why doesn't insurance cover it. I would like to hear from professionals in the filed if they think insurance should paid for the RI.

  • Question about a 2007 Chevy Cobalt being hit in the left front.?

My car while legally parked in a parking lot (inside the lines, I have pictures) was clipped in the left front by a van pulling into the parking space next to it. The lady left all information and the police officer working off duty security at the sporting event said she followed Indiana law by leaving her information which I've had no problems dealing with her insurance. My question is I go to the adjuster Wednesday and there is paint on the left front tire which is fading but again I have pictures taken the day it happened. Should I insist on the front end being lined up? The car just had one in March when I put front tires on it This happened a week a ago and the car is driving ok with no pulling either way but a late mechanic friend of mine says any time a front tire is touched is should be lined up. Suggestions?.

  • 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt question. It just reached 100,000 miles. Does it have a timing belt or chain? Do I need to have it replaced.?

The car has been almost trouble free. The only non routine item I've had to replace has been the RF wheel bearing. It even has the original brake shoes and pads, just checked the first part of March. If it's a timing belt how much roughly would it cost? I'm in the Southern Indiana/Louisville area if it matters.

  • I don't have the "corrective lenses" restriction on my driver's license. In 2009 I had to go to glasses for night driving.?

In 2013 I was told I probably would not pass the driver's license eye exam. My license is not up until 2018. We only have to take the eye test every 12 years with web renewal. I should add in 2009 I started wearing them when driving in daylight most of the time anyway. In 2013 I was told I could wear them all the time which I had been doing pretty much anyway. My question is do I need to report this and take the exam at the Indiana DMV? As far as I know my Eye Dr. has not reported it to the DMV.

  • How do I tell if my hot water heater qualifies for the energy tax credit??

During 2014 I had a new hot water heater put in my home. While doing my taxes online (I haven't filed yet) the question came up did you make any energy saving changes to your home. I put the price of the hot water heater in and it gave me another $150 back on a $730 dollar heater. If I get it great but I don't want to cheat or be audited.

  • Should I "man up" and tell the establishments that I don't qualify for the senior discount?

I eat out all the time. I'm 55 years old and without asking some places give me a senior discount without asking for it. If asked I do not lie. I often don't realize it until I look at the receipt. I feeling guilty. I've always looked older than I am. I never took advantage such as buying beer underage.

  • Should I get new glasses and how much would you wear prescription? I'm 55 years old and this is the change since my last appointment.?

In November of 2013 my script was

    OD (right) -1.00 -0.50 090

    OS (left) -1.50 -.25 080

In November 2014 my script was

    OD -1.00 -.050 090

OS -1.50 ds and blank. Both scripts have an add of +2.50 which seems fine.

I work on a computer 10 hours a night and I sometimes get headaches and I'm wondering if I get the new script if this would help. I can see the computer without glasses but sometimes I have to look at small print where I need them. In closing please don't tell me to watch eyesight improvements videos. I've already tried that and it cost me 4 grand not to wear glasses for 8 to 10 years so no thanks.

  • Why is the insurance so much higher on progressive if my eye doctor specifies progressive? Read on for details. I will award best answer.?

Early last year I stared working for a major company which offered vision insurance. I'm 55 years old and wear progressive glasses. I have a simple prescription. (od or right -1.00 -050 090. os or left -1.50 0 0 with +2.50 add) Since I had vision insurance until the changes kicked in during April I checked into getting a spare pair. I was told by the optical store that the copay was 80 to 160 dollars on progressive or 10 on lined bifocals which I don't want and can't get anyway because of the eye dr. writing progressive on my prescription. I don't understand if a medical professional specifies something why the co pay is so much higher? As a result I did not take vision insurance which was only about a dollar a month. I should have took it for the 10 copay on the eye exam. Anyone else have this experience?

  • Poll if you knew you needed glasses but put it off how long? What age did you know and what age did you get glasses. What made you get them?

In my case I started wondering at about age 12 but was pretty sure at 14 when I almost failed the school vision test. I finally got glasses at age 26 when I scared myself driving at night one too many times. I was near sighted with astigmatism. I've often wondered had been corrected early with glasses if I would have grew out of it and not went myopic. I'm pretty sure my distance vision was ok until around age 11. Keep in mind I this was in the 70's when glasses were not as accepted as they are now.
