Lasik question. Please see details.?

I had Lasik in 2000. I went back to glasses part time in 2010 and full time in 2013. I have an Optometrist who I have been going to since the day after the surgery. I'm not planning on doing this but if I would go to another Optometrist and didn't tell him I've had Lasik would he be able to tell? I've always been curious about this. Optometrists?

It would depend on a number of things. When we look at your eyes with a slit lamp, something that should be done at every exam, we can often see the edge of the flap they created when they did your LASIK. How visible this is depends on a lot of things. It ranges from being nearly impossible to miss to having to look for it a while when you know that is there. If your optometrist did corneal topography on you, it would tell him for sure that you had LASIK. This is not a test most optometrists do on all patients.

Not sure. Probably. But in general keeping secrets from a doctor is not a good idea.
