Question about a 2007 Chevy Cobalt being hit in the left front.?

My car while legally parked in a parking lot (inside the lines, I have pictures) was clipped in the left front by a van pulling into the parking space next to it. The lady left all information and the police officer working off duty security at the sporting event said she followed Indiana law by leaving her information which I've had no problems dealing with her insurance. My question is I go to the adjuster Wednesday and there is paint on the left front tire which is fading but again I have pictures taken the day it happened. Should I insist on the front end being lined up? The car just had one in March when I put front tires on it This happened a week a ago and the car is driving ok with no pulling either way but a late mechanic friend of mine says any time a front tire is touched is should be lined up. Suggestions?.

Update:

Update, I went to the adjuster he did authorize the body shop to check alignment but he said unless it touches the wheel he doesn't feel it needs it. Frankly the damage is only paint rubbed on the nosepiece and the left front corner is slightly dislodged. I'm thinking if I can find somebody to put the nose piece back on right the car does not even need a body shop. I would like to give all 3 of you best answer but I can't so I put the #s in a hat and came out with #2 so that's how I decided.

While I agree with your friend's assessment of the front end alignment, it may be too late if you already signed off on the work. If you didn't sign off, then by all means you should insist. If they say no, simply don't sign off on the work.

Tell the adjuster you'd like the front end checked and lined up because it doesn't feel right. He/she won't give you any argument. Like the man said....you will have to sign off on the repairs.
