2007 Chevrolet Cobalt question. It just reached 100,000 miles. Does it have a timing belt or chain? Do I need to have it replaced.?

The car has been almost trouble free. The only non routine item I've had to replace has been the RF wheel bearing. It even has the original brake shoes and pads, just checked the first part of March. If it's a timing belt how much roughly would it cost? I'm in the Southern Indiana/Louisville area if it matters.

Update:

The coolant has been changed once. I was not aware of the tranny fluid. I'll have to check the owners manual. I did forget about the spark plugs as it calls for a 100k change.

Your 2007 Chevy Cobalt has a timing chain which should last the life of the engine and requires no maintenance. With 100,000 miles on the odometer the front brake pads almost for sure need replacing. You also need to have the transmission fluid, and coolant changed. New spark plugs are also due to be changed at this time.

100,000 on the brakes, good job. You have another 20,000 to go to match me though.
