Why are we bombarded with the same commercials over and over, day after day?

Update:

Come on people....what I'm asking is, of the thousands of products and services in any given are, why do the ad execs, ceo's, whomever, pay to show the SAME ONES over and over? What about all the other things for sale?!?!!

    Because (whatever YOU or I might think) the research proves that is effective!

    No profitable company is going to waste time & money on advertising they cannot PROVE to their shareholders is helping the bottom line!

    because advertising works. It causes people to buy products and services.
