3 months post partum.. Pregnant again?? Exclusively breastfeeding?

I read that it's higly unlikely to become pregnant again if baby is strictly breastfeeding and under 6 months.. Is this true? Has anyone strictly breastfeeding become pregnant again so soon?

I've been sexually active 5 times..

2 times pull out, and 3 times he didn't.

I only breastfeed and baby only suckles on me.. He hates pacifiers and doesn't take them. Not pumping yet either.

I haven't yet gotten my first post partum period yet either.

It's not completely a myth, but it's also not quite THAT simple.

Having said that, if all baby's sucking needs are met at the breast, no pumping, nursing at least every 4 hours during the day with no more than 6 hours gap at night, and your period hasn't returned, LAM (lactational amenorrhea method) has a failure rate of less than 2% during the first 6 months. That's better than condoms.

So while it's possible to get pregnant again this soon, it is FAR more likely you're not pregnant at all.

Everybody is different. My sister and mom didn't get periods until they were completely done breastfeeding so 14-16 months they finally were ovulating again. With my first I got my period back 6 weeks postpartum and had a very regular period throughout exclusively breastfeeding. My second child it came back at 4 months, my third at 9 months. I only got pregnant while breastfeeding with my third though.

If you have not had a period yet, the odds of pregnancy are extremely low. (About 1%.)

Tavy's post is incorrect. It is NOT a myth that breastfeeding normally delays the return of ovulation and fertility. LAM is a legitimate, accepted form of contraception with a very low failure rate. (Tavy's friend was either an extreme exception, or got her period very early -- LAM cannot be used once menstruation resumes)

It is not likely to get pregnant while breastfeeding, but it is possible. Many women do not ovulate while breastfeeding. I did not. I stopped breastfeeding at 8 months and then ovulated and got my period at 9 months. But rarely, some women do ovulate even while breastfeeding, so it is possible.

The tips to get pregnant given below are some effective ways to get pregnant fast and are natural ways of getting pregnant. Read here https://tr.im/Ya4fv

Women can easily keep a tab on their ovulation by maintaining a temperature chart. Usually around the time of ovulation there is a spike in the temperature of women.

Stress and strain has significant role to play in respect of reproductive cycle including ovulation and menstruation. So if you are planning to get pregnant see to it that your partner as well as you are calm and collected.

Diet, weight, physical fitness and lifestyle have direct bearing on pregnancy. This holds true for both men and women. Both underweight and overweight may be exposed to the risk of infertility on account of difficulties in ovulation. So optimum importance should be given to body weight. One should opt for balanced diet, regular work out and exercises.

"Highly unlikely" does not mean impossible.

A friend of mine had her two children 9 months and 7 days apart. While that was "highly unlikely" she would become pregnant so soon after giving birth - it happened.

Idk about any myth or not a myth, but my cousin became pregnant 3 months after giving birth to her first born, and while breast feeding. Every woman is different with ovulation and how their body bounces back after birth. I would call your dr and tell them your concerns and see how they advise you. good luck

Myth, many women do. My friend became pregnant 6 weeks later when breast feeding.

Ask Tori Spelling. Her last two kids are what? 9.5 months apart? She was boob feeding and boom got knocked up and it almost killed her.
