Does starting up a car every two hours cause damage to car?
I work on a worksite and I'm now required to start up my car every two hours to monitor the site and drive around the site. Would this wear my car down faster over time. I want to hear from some in the automotive field.

Frequent short trips do increase wear as most wear occurs during the warm up period. However it will take some time, probably years, to show up. If you had a diesel it would be better as the fuel is a lubricant. With a petrol/gasoline car the rich mixture on start up washes oil away from the cylinder bores which is not ideal.

Cars are designed to start and stop, that's normal.
If you are required to use YOUR car for work purposes you should be receiving an allowance for doing so.
No allowance tell them to use their own vehicle, or walk around the site.

If the car does not get up to full operating temperature then it can result in increased wear and corrosion internally after time.
