what are some good "law" books to read?
I meant law manuals, facts, nonfiction, informational things. Actual law books, no fiction stories. I just want cold hard facts because I enjoy reading and learning about law policies.

I don't know what you mean by putting law in quotes? Do you want actual law books or are you looking for some sort of "so called" law book ( though the only thing I can think that would fit the category is those books on "silly" laws, all of which are, more or less, fiction.) If you would actually make it clear what you are looking for, I, as a JD, could probably help a bit.
Then you are looking at a huge field. You can probably find an overview at a good bookstore called Introduction to Law ( any of thousands.) this would be about the equivalent of learning your ABCs in English. If there is a specific area of law you are interested in, there are introductory books on that small area.
Go to the booksstore at a university with a law school ( or on line) and look up ""X" law in a Nutshell". There are currently something like 160 of them focusing on subsets of law. Constitutional law in a Nutshell, Criminal Law in a nutshell ( by my criminal law professor), Contracts in a Nutshell, etc, etc, etc. These are overviews a student would use and then read the actual cases cited ( note that it will be a couple to a dozen cases a page.).
I know this is like you saying, what are some good medical books, and me suggesting Grey's Anatomy, but the subject is similarly deep and all you can really get from a single book is a starting place.
