what is this card game called?

My cousins taught me a new card game but they didn't say what it was called and I forgot to ask lol

So basically it was very similar to Rummy 500. You lay down sets of 3 or more card in sequences of either 3+ of a kind or a straight flush. But in this game, you cannot pick up more than the top card the last player discarded and there are wilds you can use. If you have the card the wild is acting as, you can replace that card with the right card and take the wild, but you must use the wild card. It starts out as being aces wild and then goes up to two's wild next round, then three's and so on.

I liked the game but I would like to know what I learned lol

I looked up Wild 13. It's similar except you are always dealt 7 cards like in rummy and wilds are not based on how many cards you are dealt each round. Wilds just go up from ace to king each round. And the scoring is different from rummy. Instead of aces being worth 15, they're worth 1 in this game. Faces and 10's are still worth 10 and each other card from 2 thru 9 in this game is worth what the card says (9s are worth 9, 2's worth 2, etc.) instead of being worth 5 like in rummy. Also, in this game, the object is to have the least amount of points, whereas in rummy, you want the most points.

I could have sworn I heard someone at the house say it was Texas Gin but I looked that up and I can't find anything on Texas Gin so I am lost lol

I played a similar game called 4 kings. My Grandmother taught me how to play is just like that other person's grandma taught them how to play wild 13. I expect they're basically the same game. I'm sure if you look them both up you will see which one has rules more similar to the one you played. Happy playing!
