Does the stud from gun piercing harm the nose ?? Should i keep it on ?

Well i have had my nose pierced 2 days back with gun in a clinic [i had no one to do it with needle].The stud is on while the hook fell off but its stuck fine. I have been applying mustard oil and sometimes lime/chert as our traditional way.

Traditions says Gold heals piercings faster,so i have bought one but my nose is swollen a bit inside so couldnt wear. One of my friends says that the stud from the gun harms. Is it true ?? Should i keep it on untill the swelling is lesser ?

I would half to say just leave it alone and let it heal do not take it out or switch it ! Clean it with dial antibacterial soap and h2ocean ocean salt water spray in the morning and at night and keep moving it up and down the swelling will go away .. Cause ei had the same problem when I changed my nose ring ..so whatever you do just leave it be and try not to mess with it unless your cleaning it

If this piercing was done with a gun you need to take it out immediately. Let it heal then get it done properly. Your friend is kind of right. Its not the actual jewlerh that is the problem but the method of piercing your nose. The gun simply jams the stud through your nose pushing your cartilage to the side causing pain, swelling and infection. When done properly with a hoow point needle the whole will be made first, removing a small round divot of cartilage followed by the stud, making for a much faster and proper healing process. NEVER ever get anything done with those awful piercing guns.
