AutoCAD and dimensions?

Update:

I'm drawing a wall that needs to be 22 feet and everytime I draw it it goes off the page, I scroll across and it doesn't seem to help. I can't even draw the next wall because the line just cuts off. I could scale it down, but I don't know how to do that while keeping accurate dimensions.

    type limits, then hit enter

hit enter again (or type in 0',0' then hit enter)

type in 30',30' for the upper right corner coordinate (or any 2 coordinate larger than 22'...

    then hit enter

then type zoom then hit enter, then type A, then hit enter

if that doesnt work make sure you are in feet and inches instead of metric, to do this, type "units", then change type from decimal to architecture
