How specific does a utility patent on a shoe have to be ?

I know the sole will be rubber fro instance, there are different consistency's and thickness, to file for a utility patent will the patent drawings have to entail these details. I wont have a prototype and it will have to be tested and maybe changed or tweaked, so can I possibly get the patent without exact dimensions ?

You would almost NEVER include "exact dimensions" in your broadest claims to your invention anyway, since anyone using slightly different dimensions wouldn't infringe your patent, meaning you have lost any legal right to stop them.

If you haven't completed your invention, i.e., a full specification of how to implement it and enable others to do so, then you'd be wasting your time filing for a utility patent, since that's the whole point: public disclosure to enable others to carry it out as claimed.
