How can i make My 3 year old doberman lose weight?

I feed him twice a day. He is not active. Poor dog, i know. I am determined to change that.

We feed him tons of treats and human food. We decided to stop. Maybe a treat here and there but not before. We also give him a lot of bones. Those are cut out as well.

I am going to start an exercising routine for him. But I need help if that is appropriate. And any suggestions on anything? Your past experience?

Exercise is the biggest thing. You could also switch to a "light" dog food.

And bulk up his meals with vegetables & fruits.

Yep, you heard it right. Our vet suggested it a few years back. A local grocer has a mark-down produce rack. Carrots, lettuce, cabbage, apples, pears. They LOVE it. Just do some research, as some (think grapes, celery) are dangerous for dogs.

    Good luck!
