Credit checks for apartments in the DMV area?
Anyone know what they are looking for when they do a credit check for apartments here? My credit score is 650 right now. Would this work, or do I need to fix this?

By 'fix', I mean raise my credit score by getting more credit or checking to see if I have anything in collections that can be paid off.

They do not really care about the score. They care about what is on your credit report. You might have a low score because you have a lot of medical debt that you are paying. This would be OK. But if your score is low because you have defaulted on your credit cards, this would not be OK.
