No, not at all. Emo as a personality type is usually linked more with creative expression. As far as emo music, that tends to be classified similar to rock and punk. Falling in Reverse is classified as post-hardcore and pop punks while Black Veil Brides are classified as glam metal, hard rock, shock rock, and metalcore.

it just depends on what you think you wan to be. i am EXACTLY the same way, my best friend has just recently changed my taste in music from country and pop to SWS, BVB, PTV, BMTH, MCR, MMF, MGK,etc. and lots of people are asking me that same thing if im emo and goth all i tell them is ... idk sorta i guess i dont really care what they think of me i am who i am dont listen to them if people dont like you for the music you listen to then they arent your friends just be you.
