Help: Casual party outfit for dinner and a show?

Hi! I looking for ideas of outfits to wear to a casual birthday dinner and show this weekend. It's estimated to be around -10C that day (but will probably get more chilly at night!) and I'm just interested in finding cute ideas that are also weather-appropriate. Google images are not very helpful as some individuals' definition of cold is warmer than mine haha.

Oh and I'll be using the public transit as well :/. Thanks in advance :)

    I would probably wear a really nice pair of jeans with a nice sweater. Cant go wrong with that, and it also looks classy. Not over dressed nor under dressed.
