Found a tiny crab in Lagoona Beach?

We accidentally brought home a tiny black crab from Lagoona Beach. He must've been in some of the sand and shells we brought home (Reno, NV).

We'd like to at least try to keep him alive. We used what we had to make a small aquarium for him. But what would he eat? And should we put salt water or fresh water in with him?

He's tiny, smaller than a dime. He's all black too. Thank you. :)

I'm sorry to say but he probably won't make it. If the place you got him from was salt water, then make the water salt. You will need a source of filtration and heater if your serious about keeping him. And he should have an area of land as well as water. Use the sand a shells you have to make a land area and then make the other half of the tank water. I assume that he would eat small fish, you can try feeding him brine shrimp.
