Sequence of events at a crime scene?

Question 1: A scene in my story is the crime scene of a murder, and I want the portrayal to be relatively realistic. Who enters the scene first, what do they do, then who comes in next and so on?

Question 2: the murder happened in a building that's part of a city plaza so by the time the body was found the next morning, a bunch of people were in the area. Would the police interview the people in the area, given that the body is cold and whoever was around when it happened might not be there again in the morning?

Q 2 Yes as to seeing or hearing anything the day before, who the victim is who they associated with and a thousand other things.

Q 1 My very large city others will vary, for example in LA detectives do not work 24 hrs. A homicide detective would be on call form home to come out and is often the last to show. In my city we work 24/7 and will normally be to a scene quickly. In this case, inside and apparently not fresh death the first respondents would likely be the patrol officers assigned. They assess what they have. They first check to see if there is a pulse or signs of life in anyway. They may call for paramedics despite your assertion body is cold. They will not check for livitity or rigor at this time. They would not search the body for ID at this time They would not need immediate backup to search for offender and secure scene as in most cases but the would call for a supervisor, the one who carries all the different color barrier tapes and another car to help secure the scene. The supervisor would help determine the inner and outer circle of the scene. No one except paramedics if they determine they must passes the inner circle unless wearing proper PPE. Only the ME investigator or real deputy ME or crime lab or detective may pass. They would call the medical examiners office ( who rarely show up unless a likely newsworthy case), the detectives office. and what is called in my city the mobile crime lab (CSI for those who watch a lot of TV).

Not until permission form the MEs office is given would anyone touch the body in any way.

So paramedics would show after initial patrol presence, then either the crime lab personnel or the detectives depending on location and what else is going on in the city. Then if ME is coming out they would show
