Many and various faults such in rural country side overhead high voltage distribution cables that in windy conditions blow into adjacent trees and a high voltage auto - re close circuit breaker trips out for a few seconds, then re sets. Or an underground distribution cable fault caused by accidental damage maybe an excavator or a worker with a pneumatic pick..Or maybe an overload on the low voltage side causes a circuit breaker to trip out. The reliability and heavy engineering construction of modern HV switchgear precludes equipment fault in only the rarest occurrence.
