How many of us collect patches?
I have this thing with purchasing unused patches from the dojos I train in and setting them aside in this cigar box.
I don't have many and that's probably a good thing but I'm looking forward to adding one more, gentle wind aikido, if they still make patches. The dojo has closed and resurfaced several times in the years since both my father and my sensei had gone there.
Anyway, this is something my dad did and my sensei has a shadow box displaying his in the dojo. I don't feel the need to display certificates, trophies, out belts, just patches.
Do the rest of you feel the patch compulsion or do you collect something else and would like to share it (pics?)? Most unique or best display wins.

I used to travel a lot and train in different dojo sleeping on the dojo floor. I sewed dojo patches onto my sleeping bag from all the places I stayed at so it has a few dojo patches on there. The sleeping bag is now old and faded and the batting has shifted so it's not as soft and warm as it used to be. I don't use it anymore but it's rolled up in my closet with lots of memories.

Odd... none of the places I train at - except one - has school patches. All the others have generic patches (US and Korean flags, and organization patches). Some places have BS patches (leadership, black belt club, trained, etc) they look like boy scout merit badges. I don't like patches. I have to keep several uniforms (I have 4 of them) because depending where I go, I have to have the one with the right patches. Each TKD school has it's thing about patches, sometimes they want patches, sometimes just flags... ad nauseum. And if I train in a Karate dojo (they usually don't have patches at all) then I feel like I'm all blinged out, and it looks cheesy. I don't mind wearing flags and organizational patches, but I can't stand wearing anything else. These patches, though, can be bought anywhere and are fairly common. So I have no mementos of places I trained at.

I havent done that in years,
It actually reminds me what one of my instructors use to do. He had a jacket covered with pins and patches he collected
It also reminds me if you were one of his students and you had a martial art pin he didnt have, he took it from you.
