Hot weather and turbochargers ? I'm thinking turbochargers might not be an ideal setup for cars in the South. Any thoughts or comments?

I remember seeing a segment with Tanner Foust in a 911 Turbo filmed in California.

The crew wound up filming at night as during the day, the hot weather robbed the 911 of power.

I'm thinking turbochargers might not be an ideal setup for cars in the South.

Any thoughts or comments?

If you're talking daily driver, it won't make all that much difference. A Turbo charger with a properly set up intercooler won't be bothered by heat on a normal day. It's when you are looking for absolute maximum performance, like on a race track or drag strip that excess heat will become a concern. And SUPERCHARGERS heat the incoming air charge too.

That's what charge air coolers are for. supercharging might still be a better option.
