    First solve the two equations simultaneously to find the coordinates of P and Q. This gives x=-1 and x=3.

    From the equation of the curve,

    8y=3x²+5 so

    8dy/dx=6x and you can now get the gradient (dy/dx) at the two points.

    3x^2-6x-9=0--->x=-1 or 3

    y' = 3x/4

    y'(-1) = -3/4

    y'(3)=9/4
