What alphabet has a letter shaped like an upside-down "V"?

we are trying to identify a coin that has lettering in what appears to be a cyrillic-related alphabet, but there is one character I cannot identify - it looks like an upside-down "V", or capital "A" without the middle horizontal bar. I don't see this character in any of the cyrillic alphabets I've looked at.

The character is presumably neither "А" nor "Д", as those appear elsewhere on the coin.

"Л" is the Cyrillic version of "L" in the Latin alphabet, but it is often substituted with the letter "Λ" (which technically if "L" in the Greek alphabet, from which Cyrillic is derived) for stylistic reasons.

I don't think it's Greek because there are other characters like Ю and И which do not have Greek analogues.
