How did I get so popular so quickly?

Ok, so since the start of my high school career, I always thought I was nobody special. But I've gotten way more popular this year (I'm a sophomore) and a lot of people say I'm fiery, sassy, and witty. And a lot of random people (namely freshmen) say hi to me in the halls and once I had to do a presentation in a class and I didn't know the teacher, so I introduced myself and she said "ahhhh I know who you are." And when she introduced me to the class, they all said they knew me even though I have never seen the vast majority of them in my life. Not to mention a lot of guys seem to like me, even though I'm not particularly pretty (I'm not fishing for compliments, just being honest). Even this guy on the varsity football team. Like WHAT?! Please help answer my question. Thanks ((:

    That's what I kind of wondered. I went from being bullied in 7th/8th grade to being well liked and kind of admired in 10th and now 11th.

    I really do just think its personality, the way you carry yourself, and sometimes appearance. You're probably prettier than you think you are. We're never as pretty to ourselves as we are to others.

    I used to be bullied to the point of depression and a forever damaged self-esteem. But in highschool i made a comeback. I'm a very funny guy like you. I make some of the jocks and the popular kids laugh and they seem to like me. I pretty much pretend to be an idiot and i play the part and i make everyone laugh. of course everyone is laughing at me and not with me. And they are playing a big joke on me.

    But hey I don't know that. I pretend i'm a clueless idiot and I became pretty popular.
