How can I easily soundproof, (or at least somewhat lessen sound) my room?
Just a room in a house. Quickly, easily, etc., as possible- if something that's easy to hang on the walls that would be great. Maybe not soundproof, but at least block sounds somewhat going out and coming in. I'll take any ideas anyone has. Thanks.
I did say "or at least somewhat lessen" sound, if I couldn't totally block. So your answer didn't give me any help telling me I can't block sound. And I don't even agree with that, because I know of stories where, for example, guys wanted to have their band practice in a room. They covered the wall with rugs because somebody's dad worked in the rug business, so they used whatever they could get. And not only did it muffle the sound, but it actually blocked it totally. I don't have rugsthough.

There is no easy way to soundproof a room because the rigid structure of walls and ceilings and floors transmit sound. Rooms have to be soundproofed in the wall structure, by isolating the inside rigid components from the outside. Even if you covered all the walls and floors with thick quilts, it might muffle sound a little but it would not block it.
