People think Alexander Hamilton was assassinated.He was actually killed by the then VP Aaron Burr in a fair duel.Why was the duel fought?

    Basically they really hated each other and after Burr became Vice President Hamilton started writing and saying a bunch of nasty stuff about him. As for calling it an "assassination" that's a bunch of crap, sure Burr went into it with much more lethal intent than Hamilton, but they both agreed to what was basically an illegal death battle and invited all their friends to watch... I can't help but feel that anyone who goes to a thing like that and doesn't consider at least the possibility of being killed is kind of stupid, and Hamilton wasn't.

    I'm not sure why that doesn't count as "assassination," especially when you read about the details of how Burr "fought" the duel.
