Why do people stop right on my bumper at red lights?

People really this stupid these days? Some people either don't need a drivers license or need to go back to the DMV. I had this one guy almost slam into the back of me and I'm dead still at the light. I've had people ride my *** at red lights and ill move up alittle bit so they'll be off my bumper and they'll move on up on me and it just iterates me

I have had two cars taken out in three years by people who rear ended me. Both were middle aged women and I'm pretty certain they were paying more attention to their cell phone than the road in front of them. I could see the last one in my rearview mirror just before she hit. She was clearly looking down and only looked up and slammed on her brakes at the last second. It was too late. I can still see the panic on her face in my minds eye. Fortunately all I got was minor whiplash.

The sitting on the bumper is stupid as well. I always leave at least a car length between me and the car in front of me when stopped. The last time I was hit there was a very expensive looking Benz in front of me. The lady who hit me should have thanked me for keeping my distance from it. She pushed my car a good ten feet forward leaving my front bumper about two feet from the Benz.

If there is any consolation to people who pull too close to your rear at a stop: Your exhaust is going right into their radiator and the exhaust gas is pretty caustic. A few years of doing this will rot out a radiator.

The "creeping" infuriates me too. Sometimes I'll move up just a tiny bit, an inch or so to see if they will to. Most of the time they do. "Oh buy! We are really movin now!"

You answered you own question in the first sentence. There really is not much you can do about it. Half the people out there should not be driving. Just grit your teeth and take a deep breath.

Drivers are getting worse over time. I don't know what it is but they are just not thinking and they are just so self-centered. I'm glad I don't drive.
