link between mess and intelligence and or happiness?

Are there links between mess and intelligence? Is it true that mess means someone is not smarter than others but more laid-back and creative because it doesn't need to live with everything in a precise place and whatever? I was speaking with a friend of mine (we are both rather messy) and besides the jokes we make about mess (for example if Einstein and Shakespeare were messy and they were geniuses then we are brilliant too!) that are the kind of jokes every messy person makes as a kind of excuse not to bother tidy up, is it actually true? I personally think that we are not smarter but perhaps just more creative? My flat mate is really tidy (almost faints if anything is out of place and if there is one spot of dust!) and she's a banker,I'm really chaotic but I'm a painter a writer and an English/Italian/Spanish teacher in a prenursery so she's more fixed and I'm more multitasking what's the link between mess and this? Sorry about this question so early in the morning! I guess I've should have had less coffees :-P
