The Nephites had most of the books of the old testament, including a few that didn't make it into our modern bibles. Isaiah is quoted extensively, as well as Zenos and Zenock (two that didn't make it into our modern bibles). Also, when the resurrected Jesus appeared to the Nephites, he repeated much of his Sermon on the Mount.
It is a fascinating field of study to compare the Book of Mormon Isaiah to the various other translations. The KJV, the Great Book of Isaiah, discovered at Qumran, the Latin Vulgate - they are all different from one another and the BofM Isaiah matches one or another in part, but doesn't match any in whole.

Depends.
Technically, no. It merely quotes whatever verses Joseph Smith lifted, then twisted of what the actual bible states. Does it contain the word of God? Yes. But that, too, was twisted by Smith to say what HE wanted it to say.
Much of it was copied, but not word for word from the actual bible. But it is NOT a copy of the original.

In The New Testament Jesus Christ and His Apostles often quoted the Old Testament. Sometimes they quoted the scriptures exactly, sometimes they quoted the past scriptures with a few words different to fit it into the conversation, and sometimes Jesus Christ or his apostles would paraphrase scriptures in the context of their conversations with others about ethical, moral, or theological issues that were being talked about in their conversations.
Unless there are great footnotes or unless someone is really good about knowing the Old Testament (and also ancient writings that are not in the Bible) then a casual reader may miss that what is being said that is recorded in the New Testament is a quote or a partial quote of some scriptures that is in the Old Testament.
The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ
follows the same pattern as the New Testament. There are quotes, partial quotes, and paraphrasing of past scripture in the Old Testament that the Prophets in The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ are quoting that the casual reader may not recognize, especially if they are not looking at the footnotes.
So for example in the New Testament the Pharisees might call Jesus Christ into question on some technical point of the law, and not quote the Old Testament directly, but instead they paraphrase (put some Old Testament scripture into their own words) but they are not announcing that they did, that is just how they are speaking. And then...
Jesus Christ answers back using a similar way of speaking, where what He says to them is sometimes paraphrasing concepts in a past scripture or He might have combined several past scriptures and then He paraphrases them... having a notably different interpretation of those scriptures and by doing that Jesus Christ is revealed for what a genius Jesus truly was.
This shows that you can read the Bible and The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ, and then again you can READ The Bible And The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ.
Footnotes can be helpful, but often the footnotes miss a lot, especially when scriptures are being paraphrased rather than being quoted word for word.
Additionally, in The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ, The quotations of the Old Testament that are direct quotes are NOT exactly as it is contained in the King James Version Of The Old Testament, even though King James language structure is used throughout The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ.
The Old Testament that is being quoted in The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ
is from The Brass Plates, and therefor it has a different textual history than does The King James Old Testament.
Therefor not surprisingly there are textual differences. Generally speaking when the Old Testament is being quoted directly (from The Brass Plates) in The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ, those direct quotes contain more information than what is contained in the King James Version of the Old Testament.
So The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ
is great to read just for those people who are curious and want to know what the Old Testament had written in it, before the Dark Ages and the book burners took over Europe and the Mediterranean during the aptly named... Dark Ages.
So therefor you can actually get portions of the Old Testament (in bits and pieces) that has been lost to Western Civilization as a result of the torturers and murders who took over Western Culture during the Dark Ages, and who also had control of the Bible during the horrifying and terrible Dark Ages when everyone in Western Society were slaves or the Masters of the Slaves in Europe and in the Mediterranean area of the World. AND...
there are whole chapters that contain Chapters that once were considered Holy Scriptures and part of what is now called the Old Testament that are in The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ.
And you can read both of these books and compare them side by side when some of the Old Testament is being quoted in The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ, and see the greater information that has been restored, of the Bible, inside The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ... for yourself. AND...

If you want to remain in your ignorance and wickedness you can, and if you want to remain in your unenlightened state for eternity, and that is your desire, then according to your desire you will be in ignorance and darkness for eternity.
But if you want to learn, if you want to use your mind, then it is amazing what you will find. The mind of Jesus Christ is very Kind. And you can join your mind to Jesus Christ's mind, and to His heart, you can do that if you do your part.
