print using photographic emulsion?

This is the first I've heard of such a technique so I'm doing all the research I can on the topic. Are things that work well for this particular technique? Things that are more difficult to achieve? I'm not asking for an idea for my specific project, just trying to figure out what would be reasonable to accomplish for a beginner. I've done reductive screen prints, but that's all.

FWIW, my project must be related, somehow, to science or technology in our time.

Glad you finally said for screen printing.

You obviously have to have a negative or something that blocks the light and you have a strong source of the right kind of light - the sun works well I understand.

Photo emulsion can be used for other things - like putting photos on items and I think what you are really talking about is photo masking.
