Find a and b to make this continuos?

2/(x+2) x<-4

mx+b -4<x>4

x-4/(sqrt(x)-2) x>4

I know you have to find the limits at each point. So

lim x--> -4- =2/-4+2=-1

Should be lim x-->-4+ =mx+b=-1 We sub in the -4 but not sure how to simplify from there.

For the second you would simplify the radical by multiplying top and bottom by sort(x)+2. = (x-4)(sort(x)+2/(x+2).

Is this on the right track?

    YES...and type - 4 < x < 4 , not -4 < x > 4...which means nothing...but your work on the bottom is not correct
