We just moved and my cat has not eaten or drank in about 3 weeks, why is this?

Because cats H-A-T-E change and LOVE routine. They are distressed to the max when you move to a new home.

If it has not literally eaten in 3 weeks that cat is starving to death and for all practical purposes has become anorexic. If a cat stops eating for longer than 3 DAYS, its liver becomes involved because of chemistry changes in the body and it makes the cat feel very sick and keeps it from eating even more. Unless you can entice the cat to eat by any means with any product KFC chicken, sardines, people tuna, bacon, etc then you need to get that cat to the vet!

My cat quit eating when we moved and ultimately the vet had to surgically implant a feeding tube into the stomach and I had to squish special food down that tube to feed the cat 4 times a day for weeks!

So you better have the vet check that cat out before it dies.

3 weeks and you have not seen a vet? Geez - get this cat to the vet and find out what is really going on. We will move too but can guarantee that they will be eating in the new home within 2 days of moving and settling in!

If your cat hasn't drank for 3 weeks it's probably dead

she's home sick, when i moved and i let my at out she hid under the car for 2 days, i had to pry her out to get her inside. just keep him or her close, make her or him feel welcome, keep her, him close. and if that doesn't work try force feeding. it takes a while for anyone pet's to to get used to their new surroundings.
