It's alive and well. You're just a click away from YouTube, where you can see plenty of doomsday propaganda if you wish.

The 2011 thing was such a glorious bust that the fraudulent prophets with TV and radio shows have kept pretty quiet. I'll give them a few more years before the next one pops up, it gives the mugs time to forget that thousands were deceived by the same sort of junk in 2011.

Oh, you mean Armageddon? Or do you mean when Christ Jesus returns to judge a sinful and godless world?
For what it's worth, Christian belief in the second coming of Christ Jesus is alive and well, but we prefer to share the gospel message of salvation with people. Christianity is all about the love and forgiveness of God, and what he did, in Christ Jesus, to save sinners.
Mind you, the way evil is escalating in the world today, I think we are rapidly approaching "the day of the Lord." Of course, everybody who belongs to Christ need not fear.

You are talking about "Ye Olde Rapture" thingy, "End times"
Urgency sells.... The religious professionals are as skillful as car salesman when it comes to urgency. "Buy this car today and save, tomorrow is too late. The sale ends today."
"Repent (give us money) today, tomorrow is too late. The sale ends today."
Urgency sells.... "Jesus is coming soon!"
They’ve used urgency as a perpetual sales pitch to fill the Church coffers for the last 1700 years.

As time goes on, it becomes more and more of a false prophecy. I think mainstream Christianity is starting to realize this, as well as the whole concept of heaven and hell being counter-productive.
