Effective alternative to barbell military press?

I go to a small gym in town. They only have one area which is used for bench pressing, squats, etc. Often times, this area is being used by someone. When I get a chance to use the machine, I don't want to spend a lot of time there due to it's high demand.

Which leads me to the question- If I can't use the barbell for military press, should I be using the smith machine, dumbbells, or an EZ bar?

My only concern with dumbbells is that they "only" go to 100 lbs at my gym. I'm not at that point yet, but I'm thinking long-term.

you're not going to be able to dumbbell press 100lbs in each hand for 8 reps anytime in your life most likely if you're using proper form and isolating shoulders. go for the dumbbells for sure. also, handstand push ups work the same way using your bodyweight. just put your feet up against some wall (this is better done at home).

Standing barbell presses,no machine much, much better.dumbbell standing presses.or you can use a sand bag at home or even handstand pushups.Try not to use the machines,a standing exercise is always superior.
