Has something an ex said to you as the relationship ended made you question part of who you are?

Recently, an ex of mine (we just broke up two weeks ago) said somethings about me that were really hurtful and I felt untrue. She called me irresponsible, unreliable and immature, and since then all I can think is if she is right or if it is just something she was saying. It's gotten in my head and I don't think I can trust myself with anything anymore. Has this happened to you?

Often times they load up a cannon full of their own guilt and launch it at you - while you are at your most vulnerable.

Some portion of it might have been true, but the bulk of it might just have been there to hurt you and remove themselves from any consideration that they contributed to the failure of the relationship.

Well, of course, anybody who takes criticism consciously does wonder if there's some truth in it. But I guess you can really know if you're irresponsible. I think most of us know if we're responsible or not.
