Why do people melt Aluminum cans down into ingots and such?
Do they melt them just for molds or do you sell better melted down or what? Someone please inform me.

It's a lot more compact if you deal with a lot of aluminum. You can only crush a can, or other aluminum object, so flat. If you melt it down and cast it as an ingot you get all the same weight (which is what you sell by) in a lot less volume.
I'm sure some people also melt them down to use in crafts and the like. (Or to disguise metals that came from...questionable sources.)

You'd have to ask them, some people do it to reuse it, some people may do it for convenience and ease.
